Positive: The resort is well kept, beautiful grounds. The room were spacious, but will opt for a villa in future with two kids, as the room was small for all of us. The snorkelling is amazing, and this is why we chose Shanti. Breakfast was great, pool too.

Negative: The food other than breakfast was absolutelly shocking. For a 5 star resort you expect better presentation and flavour. We tried the indian and thai dishes. Both were poor. We then chose to eat out of the hotel. So coming to Shanti to enjoy the food was a fail. This was the case with other guest we met outside the hotel at local restaurants. This is a deal breaker for us. I did not try the rum shed as was closed when we did try and go. A wedding was planned outside our room, with not permission/notice given. With loud music playing for 1-2 hrs. This is not acceptable especially when you have a communal area by the pool. Why not have the wedding there? I asked for a late checkout after 12, and they wanted to bill me per hour. Surely if inconsiderate enough to plan weddings without informing guest infront of their room, you can make an exception to your hourly rate. Manager was meant to come talk to me, but no effort was made by him to do this. I feel management needs a serious wake up call. Its not all about making money, service is important too. Food is paramount. I am not gonna pay for below average food.
